Hi, I'm Austin.
I make things happen with code.I'm a fullstack software engineer located near San Diego, California. I like long walks on the beach, service-repository patterns, and that feeling you get after deleting a bunch of unused code.
01. About Me
Hi, I'm Austin. Since my transition into tech in 2020, I've had the privilege to work as a freelancer and Software Engineer at an adtech startup, where I'm responsible for end-to-end development of publisher support products.
When tackling new projects or features, I like to dive deep. I start by really getting to grips with the core issue or goal, both from a business and technical standpoint. I'm not shy about asking questions or challenging norms. My aim? To create solutions that not only work well and look great, but also scale easily and feel smooth to work with behind the scenes.
I excel at designing and developing APIs and microservices, have a proven track record of building intuitive, aesthetic frontends, and am actively expanding my skills in cloud infrastructure and deployment. At my current company, I'm known best for my experience in building generative AI features and complex integrations.
Lately I've been using:

Knowledgebase + Article Editor
Jun 2024System for writing and publishing standardized help articles with AI tools
The goal: to improve the quality of Ezoic's help center articles and streamline the process of writing them. To accomplish this, I:
- Developed a robust new system for creating help articles using standardized templates and sections
- Built an intuitive multistep form for article editing with AI writing tools, a draft/autosave system, and drag + drop file uploading
- Eliminated the need for contracted translators by implementing automatic translation to all supported languages using an LLM
- Redesigned the client-side of the knowledgebase while navigating opensource license restrictions
In the words of our UK support team lead: "The new editor is 1000x better."
